Stay healthy this flu season with health tips!
It’s flu season! Keep germs at bay with these health tips to keep you healthy all season long!
Hand hygiene.
Wash your hands! Keeping your hands clean is so simple! And it’s one of the best ways to fight pathogens. Use either soap and water or hand sanitizer. Just be sure to wash them for at least 20 seconds. Try humming the “happy birthday” song twice to make sure you lathered long enough!
Avoid people with flu-like symptoms.
If you know someone who has a cold or the flu, stay away from them. The flu is transmitted through droplets and can reach a distance of up to 6 feet away. Keep your distance and reduce your risk of getting the flu!
Contain the germs!
If you’re not feeling well then stay home! Rest will help your body fight the virus and you’ll reduce exposure to the virus! The virus can be transmitted up to seven days after you get sick and can even spread before you even develop symptoms. Prevent the spread of the flu and always remember to cover your nose and mouth!
Good health habits.
Whether you’re feeling well or not, it’s a good idea to practice healthy habits. Eat well, drink plenty of water, exercise and sleep more! The healthier you are, the better your body functions and the more equipped it will be to fight germs.
Get a flu shot.
If you haven’t gotten it yet, get a flu shot! The CDC recommends that everyone 6 months or older should get a flu shot. There are exceptions due to health restrictions. Discuss your flu shot with your doctor!
