Ways to Keep Germs in Check on a Daily Basis

Ways to Keep Germs in Check on a Daily Basis

    By Young Insurance | Lifestyle | Comments are Closed | 23 March, 2022 | 0

With all of the concerns about germs lately, it’s important to know how to keep your family safe when they are out in public. With a little common sense and the right tools, you can minimize your family’s exposure to germs daily. It only takes a few minutes to accomplish many of these tasks, so you have no excuse not to do them. Teach your family to practice safe habits, and they can help you keep your home safe and as germ-free as possible.

    • Wash Your Hands Often

Wash your hands often. 20 to 30 seconds with warm soap and water will eliminate many of the most common germs you encounter. Always wash your hands before you eat and after using the bathroom. Teach your children to do the same, and it will be a habit they carry with them for the rest of their lives. It’s also a good idea to find a bathroom and wash your hands carefully if you have been shopping in a high traffic area.

    • Wipe Down Your Kitchen and Bathroom Surfaces Daily

Your kitchen and bathroom surfaces are constantly being exposed to germs. Use warm soap and water or an antibacterial cloth to wipe down all surfaces you normally encounter. Not only will it keep your areas germ-free, but it will also help to stop odors from cropping up out of nowhere. Germs and microbes can cause terrible odors. Make sure to wipe down all surfaces you touch, plus try to get into the tight corners and crevices.

    • Change Your Bed Sheets at Least Once a Week

Changing your bed sheets at least once a week is a good way to keep germs under control. Even if you crawl into bed right after a shower, germs can still start to build up over time. The longer you go without changing your sheets, the more germs you will be exposed to when you are sleeping. Get rid of the germs so you have fresh, clean sheets to sleep in. It will give you peace of mind.

    • Keep Hand Sanitizer Close By

Always carry hand sanitizer. You never know when you will be put in a situation where you will be exposed to someone who is sick or has just met a sick person. Hand sanitizer can be your first line of defense and protect you from many harmful germs. Carry a small container in your pocket and keep one in your car. Put a larger bottle on your desk or workspace to always have one handy.

If you are trying to keep your family healthy and safe in this pandemic-ridden world, there are several things you can do to keep germs at bay. Contact the agents at Young Insurance today. We understand the frustration of being exposed to an endless stream of germs. We can also create a customized insurance plan for you and your family if you fall prey to these germs and need medical assistance.
